Sites Like Indeed: Job Search Sites Compared on Job Quality

The best sites like Indeed depend on what Indeed isn't giving you. For a similar general board, ZipRecruiter works much the same way. For jobs read straight from company websites, try HiringCafe (free, many filters), Remote Rocketship (paid, remote only) or Drivetube's free board, which shows the employer's own posting date and tags visa sponsorship from the posting. For hand-screened flexible work, FlexJobs. For remote matching with auto-apply, Jobgether. Indeed itself has no visa-sponsorship filter and also pulls jobs from employers' websites by scanning the web.

On this page

The best site like Indeed depends on what Indeed isn't giving you. Some employers post jobs on Indeed directly; Indeed also takes jobs from external sources such as employers' websites by scanning the web. Search filters include remote, date posted, pay, easily apply, job type, experience level and skill. Indeed's help says there is no visa-sponsorship filter and suggests searching "visa sponsorship" as a keyword. If you want a similar general board, ZipRecruiter works much the same way. If you want fewer stale or copied listings, sites that read jobs straight from company websites are the better swap.

If you want fresher, real listings

The most common complaint about big boards is applying to jobs that are already gone. Sites that read jobs straight from company websites avoid most of that, because a job removed from the careers page disappears from the site too.

  • HiringCafe says it collects jobs directly from company websites in real time, filters out external recruiting agencies and fake consulting firms, and keeps improving its detection of stale postings and duplicates.
  • It re-scans "continuously" and removes dead listings every day, but says "you will occasionally click into a job that closed since our last scan".
  • The Drivetube Job Board is free with no account. It reads jobs from 50+ applicant tracking systems across 110,000+ company career pages and every listing links to the employer's own application page. Listings stay for three days from the employer's posting date; jobs whose posting offers visa sponsorship stay for 60 days, so use the 'posted' filter if you only want the newest.
  • The date on a Drivetube listing is the employer's own posting date from its applicant tracking system, and the listing expires on that date's clock (three days, or 60 for jobs that offer visa sponsorship), so a job discovered late still ages out on its real age.

If you need visa sponsorship

Search filters include remote, date posted, pay, easily apply, job type, experience level and skill. Indeed's help says there is no visa-sponsorship filter and suggests searching "visa sponsorship" as a keyword. Of the sites above, only Remote Rocketship (paid plans) and Drivetube offer a sponsorship filter. Visa sponsorship has three states: the posting offers it, refuses it, or does not mention it (most postings say nothing). The tag is read from the posting's own words by fixed rules, which pass 98.9% of 7,004 test sentences with no false offers.

If you want screened or flexible work

FlexJobs is a paid remote and flexible job board. It says every listing is screened by a team of people rather than algorithms, that commission-only, MLM and too-good-to-be-true offers are rejected, that every job offers some flexibility, and that the site runs no ads or sponsored listings. You need a paid subscription to see employer names, full job details or to apply; free access covers articles and general information.

If you want someone to apply for you

With Auto-Apply "we use the data in your Jobgether profile to apply instantly on your behalf directly on company sites", up to 10 jobs a day. With the Let Us Apply add-on, a Drivetube expert finds jobs that pass every Jobscout check, tailors each application and submits it on the company's own careers site. A person submits every application; no AI agent is used. You get a daily WhatsApp and email report with the resume, cover letter and proof of submission for each job.

Where Indeed is still the better choice

  • One account for applying on the board, with status tracking and a confirmation email when you use Apply with Indeed.
  • Older listings as well as new ones; Drivetube's listings expire three days after posting (60 days for sponsorship jobs).

Frequently asked questions

For a similar general board with one-click applying, ZipRecruiter. For jobs taken straight from company websites, HiringCafe or Drivetube's free board. For hand-screened flexible work, FlexJobs. For remote jobs, Remote Rocketship or Jobgether.

Several build their listings that way. HiringCafe says it collects jobs directly from company websites in real time, filters out external recruiting agencies and fake consulting firms, and keeps improving its detection of stale postings and duplicates. Its software "continuously scans the career pages and applicant tracking systems of over 100,000 company websites", and "We don't wait for employers to pay us to post jobs". The Drivetube Job Board is free with no account.

Search filters include remote, date posted, pay, easily apply, job type, experience level and skill. Indeed's help says there is no visa-sponsorship filter and suggests searching "visa sponsorship" as a keyword. Remote Rocketship includes a visa-sponsorship filter on paid plans, and Drivetube tags sponsorship from the posting's own words: Visa sponsorship has three states: the posting offers it, refuses it, or does not mention it (most postings say nothing). The tag is read from the posting's own words by fixed rules, which pass 98.9% of 7,004 test sentences with no false offers.

The large ones are legitimate, but scam listings appear everywhere. Indeed advises checking that employer emails come from the company's own domain, being wary of offers that sound too good to be true, and reporting suspicious jobs with the "Report job" button.

Is FlexJobs Legit? FlexJobs Review: Screening, Filters and Billing

Yes, FlexJobs is legitimate: a paid board of remote and flexible jobs that says every listing is screened by people, with commission-only, MLM and too-good-to-be-true offers rejected and no ads or sponsored listings. You need a paid plan to see employer names, full details or apply: a 14-day trial at $2.95 that renews at $23.95 every four weeks, or $29.85 for three months, or $71.40 a year, all auto-renewing. The FAQ promises a 14-day satisfaction guarantee while the Terms say refunds are not guaranteed. It has no visa-sponsorship filter and states no posting-date policy.

HiringCafe Review: Free Job Search From Company Websites, Compared

HiringCafe is a legitimate, free job search engine run by SPICYHR INC. It says it collects jobs directly from company websites in real time and filters out recruiting agencies and fake consulting firms, and it offers more filters than most boards, from date posted and experience to security clearance, benefits and company stage. It does not apply for you, does not say how its tags are made or how accurate they are, and lists no separate visa-sponsorship filter. Its privacy policy says it does not sell your data for money, but advertising partners collect browsing data and Talent Network profiles are visible to employers.

Remote Rocketship Review: Is It Legit, and Is It Worth Paying For?

Remote Rocketship is a legitimate paid remote job board run by Rocketship Jobs Ltd in London. It builds its listings by scanning the career pages and applicant tracking systems of over 100,000 companies, sends you to the employer's own site to apply, and never applies for you itself. Browsing is free, but seeing every result and the salary, visa-sponsorship and seniority filters needs a plan ($29 a month, $59 a quarter or $99 a year, refundable within 14 days). It admits you will occasionally open a job that closed since its last scan, and its terms give it a broad licence over resumes you submit.

Best Job Boards in the USA

The main job boards in the USA compared — Indeed, LinkedIn, ZipRecruiter, Glassdoor and more — with what each is genuinely best at, the niche and specialist boards worth adding, and visa and work-authorisation guidance. Includes Drivetube: a free verified board crawled ATS-by-ATS from 115,000+ company career pages, showing only true posting dates from the source ATS and deleting every general listing 3 days after it was actually posted, with no account required.

Is ZipRecruiter Legit? ZipRecruiter vs Indeed for Job Seekers

Yes, ZipRecruiter is legitimate and free for job seekers. It says it vets job posters with detection software and an onboarding check, re-checks listings as they are posted and has staff reviewing suspicious posts seven days a week, but scam listings still get through on every large board. Its 1-Click Apply sends your resume on file straight to the hiring manager in one click, while Apply Now opens the employer's own form. Indeed works the same way with Apply with Indeed and Apply on the company site; it also pulls jobs from employers' websites by scanning the web and has no visa-sponsorship filter.
